The Sailfish Challenge has quickly become one of the most popular and arguably the largest Sailfish tournaments in the country. With a one-day cash purse in excess of $220,000 Team Frosty was up for the challenge. We enlisted the help of Captain Dean Panos and his 34’ SeeVee Double D and first mate Marcello.
On Saturday the 25th of February 2011 the Team saw one of the calmest
days in the tournament history. Frosty’s had to dig into their bag of tricks to try and
get some fish to rise. They, as well as some other teams, utilized balloons to help keep
their bait where the fish were feeding—all the while praying for wind. When the day ended
the team had 4 releases and came in 21st out of 79 boats with their last fish coming in just
before they needed to head back in. The calm weather made the tournament anybody’s ball game
and the leader board changed frequently, but at the end of the day, it was Midnight Blue with
a home run with 9 releases and the win for the tournament.
Special Thanks to:

and future. "Next year we bring home a win!"
